Finding Your Beat – A 7-Step Plan

I’ve come to know that finding your beat in life is not difficult – it’s a journey that we all must take.  Your heart beats with the rhythm of life. When you rest and give God permission to order your steps you are in sync with the rhythm of life. It’s not complicated, nor is it similar to anyone else’s journey. This journey is entirely your’s to walk.

Here are 7 steps that I believe are necessary to finding your beat in life!

Step 1: Read living words daily

Step 2: Pray and ask for guidance

Step 3: Follow the path that has been established for YOU!

Step 4: Laugh, because joy is your strength

Step 5: Don’t get stuck in life, stay in the flow of it!

Step 6: Know in your heart that NOTHING is impossible with God!

Step 7:  Be creative, innovative, explore the unknown, walk out in wide open spaces.

Finding your beat may also require you going in another direction. If what you’re currently doing is not bringing you the results you desire than change the plan. Maybe you need something entirely new in your life. How would a new career benefit you?  It can happen for you in as little as 6 weeks, with a career as a certified life coach. You can tailor your coaching practice to fit “your beat” or “your niche.”  If you are looking to do something different and you’ve always been the “go-to-person,” maybe coaching is for you.  A new certified life coach class starts March 26th.

The Excelsior Mode

It’s so important to make room for some downtime in your life. Sometimes I feel like I’m always on – like a light bulb.  I’m thinking, creating, building, chatting – I’m always in that action mode. It’s not a bad thing. But this past Sunday, I needed a me day. It was a rainy, foggy, dreary day that would encourage anybody to stay home. But, I went out and I ended up at the movies. I normally try to take something away from the plot when I go and I wasn’t disappointed at all. Out of everything that I heard and saw on the big screen, this word stayed with me – EXCELSIOR. The whole movie was themed behind this one word. Excelsior is a Latin word that means, “ever upward.” Cool word don’t you think?

New You Year

Can’t you feel the newness in the atmosphere? It’s as if someone took a big eraser and wiped the chalk board of your life that had all of the mistakes, miscalculations, challenges, bad choices and bumps of 2012. I know my board has been wiped because I can sense a refreshing. I get a chance to start new. I think it comes when you shift into a new cycle of time. You know how Oprah used to say, “this is what I know for sure,” well this is what I know for sure. Life becomes an extraordinary adventure when you can discern, contextualize, dream and select that which you wish to experience right here and right now. I’m not looking at what can happen next month, I’m designing today. When I do that I take part in drafting something larger for tomorrow. I’m a participant in the process. Your selections today play a big part in what unfolds from here on. Of course, I leave the things I can’t control to God because I recognize that He sees the bigger picture. But, He’s given me permission to add spectacular color to my right NOW moments.
